Miss Missouri Scholarship Competition

The Miss America scholarship competition has a 100-year history of looking ahead! The Miss America competition was the first competition to offer a talent category and soon after scholarship awards for young women to be able to go to college and further their education.

Miss America has evolved in society as women in society have evolved.

This past year, candidates were no longer judged on outward appearance. That meant the elimination of the swimsuit competition and a choice for each candidate in the Evening Wear category to showcase a wardrobe that expressed their own individual style.

But most importantly, the candidates’ voices were heard more often and more clearly! Throughout the competition, candidates had more opportunities to advocate for their social impact initiatives and to demonstrate how they are uniquely qualified for the exciting and challenging 365-day job of being Miss America.

We are proud of Miss America 2.0 and what the organization stands for in empowering young women across the country to be the best they can be through leadership, talent, communication skills, and intelligence.

Please join us as we celebrate 50 years in Mexico, Missouri!
