Chamber Programs
Workforce Resource Assistance Program (WRAP) The Workforce Resource Assistance Program (WRAP) was originally established through a grant from The Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments in January of 2021. The chamber of commerce employs two Workforce Specialists that offer training to employers on stabilizing the current workforce to improve retention, attendance, and productivity. The specialists spend time on the jobsite meeting with employees and assisting in developing better problem-solving skills for problems on and off the job. The specialists are well connected and able to facilitate relationships between employees and service providers in the community. Additionally, with support of three local financial institutions, small dollar loans are available through the program.
Mexico Sustainability Project (MSP) Understanding and addressing the impact of generational poverty and implementing a strategic plan to help individuals be successful in the workplace and live above the poverty line is vital to keeping the family unit, our schools, this community and Audrain County strong. We believe we have identified the framework that will shift the mindset of the entire community and will offer a comprehensive approach to poverty. This Framework addresses the community/non-profit sector, the business sector, healthcare, Education k-12 and higher education. It is designed to build whole networks in each of these sectors as well as certify trainers through the process so that this framework is sustainable.
Partners for Education and Employment Coalition (PEEC) This group is a platform for area manufacturers to meet, discuss and problem solve common concerns and explore new opportunities. The topics of discussions range from workforce to local training needs as well as opportunities to help students explore careers in manufacturing.
